Death of a Young Lieuteant
It's in the opening days of World War I.  A captain in the Royal Flying Corps is asked to prove or disprove the innocence of a junior officer in the squadron accused of murder.  There are two problems with this request; One, all the evidence is behind enemy lines.  Two, the captain asked to solve the murder is Jake Reynolds--perhaps the most skilled art thief/forger who worked in the 20th Century!  And he's already planning a major theft from underneath the noses of an entire German army!
